This Burgundian style 15th century padded jack is made to fit a child of around 10 or 11 years old. It was made for the Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre, for their visitor handling collection. Made in natural linen, with a natural linen lining, this example is padded with layers of cotton batting. The jack fastens with leather points, tipped with metal aglets (or aiglets). The eyelets are hand sewn over hidden metal rings. As ever, there is an internal port piece to cover any gaps. |
