A 14th century gambeson, made in blue heavy weight linen, and lined in lighter off white linen. The gamby is mid-thigh length, with full length sleeves. It has a front fastening, with handmade brass hooks and eyes. The opening is backed by a padded port piece, made in the same blue linen. The gambeson is un-split at the back, and has a short standing collar. The quilting is straight throughout, vertically to the body and upper arm, and horizontally to the lower part of the sleeve. |
