A late medieval arming doublet made in black linen, and with a natural linen lining. The doublet is lightly padded throughout the body and sleeves. The piece is fully gusseted, at underarm and centre back, to allow full freedom of movement. The fastening is a row of points at the centre front. The point holes are, as ever, re-enforced with hidden metal rings, and the points are hand made cord, with brass aiglets (or aglets). Point holes to support the armour to be worn over this can be seen at the high shoulder, the waist, the front hip, and the back of elbow. |
